چکیده

This review was presented to suggest if viruses could be used as fecal indicators for drinking water and treated sewage pollution. The failure of bacterial in a lot cases indicate viral pollution indicates that may fail express sewage. We explain this statement viruses, especially enteric are generally secreted the feces infected or carrier persons. Thus, it always expresses contamination consequently water. Hence, defect virus’s presence expressing pollution, which is cause Adding at least one indicator besides can help supply more perfect quality results greater assurance safety. Adenoviruses bacteriophages represent suitable candidates indices samples.

Bovine enteroviruses as indicators of fecal contamination.

Surface waters frequently have been contaminated with human enteric viruses, and it is likely that animal enteric viruses have contaminated surface waters also. Bovine enteroviruses (BEV), found in cattle worldwide, usually cause asymptomatic infections and are excreted in the feces of infected animals in large numbers. In this study, the prevalence and genotype of BEV in a closed herd of cattl...

Characterization of 'faecal streptococci' as indicators of faecal pollution and distribution in the environment.

The recent revision of the taxonomy of 'faecal streptococci' prompted us to verify the importance of identifying the species of this group of cocci. During a study carried out to assess the hygienic quality of environmental samples from a variety of sources, we isolated 198 strains named faecal streptococci on the basis of conventional international tests (EVA broth multiple tube test) used for...

Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria in the Environment as Bio-Indicators of Pollution

Antibiotic resistant and multiple-antibiotic resistant bacteria (MARB) have become increasingly widespread, primarily due to overuse of antibiotics in clinical therapeutics and in growth promotion for livestock. This undermines the usefulness of the drugs and presents a serious problem for human health. Compounding the problem, resistance determinants can spread between different bacteria via t...
